Private, Contemporary, Vocal-Performance Sessions…
Thank you for viewing my Private Vocal-Performance Training Sessions information. One of my favorite musical endeavors is instruction. I love to work, providing vocal, musical and performance training to students, helping them to achieve to the best of their ability and reach their musical-career goals.
The training I provide is, generally, in the direction of the contemporary (as opposed to classical). In other words, I cater, specifically, to the Pop, Rock, R&B, Country, etc…the Contemporary performer, although the particular vocal approach I apply is somewhat Classical.
You may have heard my music or seen me perform but I’d like to give you a bit about my musical background. In my very early years, my musical direction was altogether contemporary, having grown up around typical American Pop/Rock/R&B/Latino music. As a young child, I played elementary piano and began to be consumed, musically, with the music that attracted my attention. But there was no real move toward music yet.
Later, beginning in High School, I, reluctantly, began receiving classical voice training under an excellent vocal instructor, Dinah Helgeson. This great vocalist and teacher, competently and patiently, helped me to appreciate and really break into the arena of Classical singing. She was able to bring me to a respectable level of vocal proficiency as a High School student, helping me to place number two in my State-level solo and ensemble competition. This was a significant feat, given my relative short time in that particular arena of vocal music. And I still remember quite well, the instruction I received under her tutelage, as she was the first vocal teacher I had, who truly helped to develop a solid singing technique, for me.
Post High School, I spent two years in my community college’s Professional Entertainment Training Program where I received invaluable instruction and skill pertaining to various aspects of Contemporary, professional music entertainment.
But the greater part of my collegiate course work, in Music, was classical, solo and choral, Vocal-Performance as well as Music Composition. In my later college years, I continued to receive more Classical vocal training. And frankly, I attribute the general ability and longevity of my vocal instrument, to the classical vocal-approach I have been taught. I do even apply it readily to my contemporary singing. For that reason, I provide this vocal approach in my lesson training.
But always keeping up on my Contemporary side, I worked as a professional Karaoke Host/Entertainer, for several years, wherein I continued to hone my vocal and performance skills. Also, over many years, I also performed and competed, quite successfully, in numerous singing, talent and Karaoke competitions, as well as television shows, nationwide and beyond. (See ‘Gallery’ tab)
Through the years, I have continued as a Contemporary artist, vocalist and musician, performing cover music and composing, producing and performing my own compositions.
Finally, it is, indeed, on of my joys to pass on the training and experience I have received, on to committed, dedicated students. The vocal-performance and music training I received over many years has been absolutely critical to the level at which I strive to create music, perform and compete in the music field. It has helped me take my abilities to the next level and I know it can have a similar impact on the career life of my students.
Now, that is definitely more than enough about me and my life! If, after all that, you’re still interested in moving forward with me, let’s talk about you and getting you started… The process here is pretty simple. You and I can create a set weekly time schedule and begin to meet at my little studio, in Lynnwood, WA, where I have the tools we’ll need to “work out.” Also, if need be, the schedule can be re-vamped, week-to-week, pending open time slots.
Also, understand that lesson objectives can be a bit flexible; They do not HAVE to be strictly voice ONLY. We can work on more varied musical skills, with our time together, in such areas as ear-training, basic musical skills, performance training/practice and/or composition etc. Your input as to your wishes, is always welcome.
And now for the formality realities… Rates for sessions are as follows:
Per hour sessions are $45 and must be paid in advance of session(s). Cancellations must be made with 24-hour notice and will be rescheduled.
Finally, the many investments I have made in my career, over the years, have been highly significant. They have impacted my life on many levels. And I know that it will be the same for you. I just want you to know that I that very seriously. Your time and resources are not small things but are your life investment. So I commend, to you, my utmost, as we strive together to build up your “musical muscles” and impact your life.
So now that you know all about me and how this whole thing will work. Let’s get started. Go ahead and drop me an email or Facebook-message me and we’ll work out the details.
I so look forward to working with you and helping you to reach your musical heights and goals.
In harmony,
Sammy Vijarro
